Giant LED Façade Billboard Engineering and Turnkey Installation at Berjaya Times Square
In September 2025, V-Series achieved a milestone in Malaysian Digital Out-Of-Home (DOOH) history with the completion of the Berjaya Times Square Giant Facade LED. Situated at the high-velocity intersection of Jalan Imbi, this project is a titan of digital engineering, spanning a combined surface area of 773.76 square meters.
V-Series was appointed as the sole turnkey partner to execute a “0-to-1” transformation. This meant taking a blank, architecturally challenging brick facade and evolving it through every stage: conceptual pitching, rigorous structural engineering, complex DBKL licensing, and high-altitude installation.
The final result is a synchronized, dual-screen masterpiece—an 8-story digital landmark that offers the client a premium asset for high-impact brand storytelling, delivered with zero disruption to one of Kuala Lumpur’s busiest commercial hubs.
Project Insight & Challenges
The path to completing this monumental installation came with a series of challenges that tested our capabilities and limit in constructing such big project. The primary difficulty lay in the building’s architecture; the 8-story vertical façade was composed of traditional brickwork that is very hard. This necessitated a custom-engineered steel structure that is capable of supporting the massive dead weight of over 520 LED cabinets.
The engineering and installation complexity was drastically compounded by the building’s non-linear geometry, where two separate wall planes converged to form an inward-angled recess. To achieve a perfectly flat, uniform front visual surface across this architectural indentation, the horizontal steel structural framework on the right side had to be engineered with much deeper extension brackets to bridge the receding wall.
This structural variation created an extraordinary physical challenge during the high-altitude installation phase. Because the gondolas dropped straight down vertically from fixed overhead anchors at the top of the building, the natural gravity path of the cables left the installation basket suspended in mid-air, far from the recessed right-hand wall surface. As our technicians descended into these zones, they had to tilt the gondola basket inward toward the building facade just to reach the steel structure. This continuous force caused the basket to tilt and sway unpredictably, making the handling and mounting of heavy LED cabinets an exceptionally high-risk, high-difficulty task requiring absolute physical resilience and precision under highly unstable conditions.
Beyond the physical constraints, the project was a masterclass in navigating urban bureaucracy and logistical restrictions. Operating in the heart of the Golden Triangle meant the project was under constant scrutiny by DBKL (Kuala Lumpur City Hall). The licensing phase became the project’s most significant time investment, requiring six months of meticulous coordination to secure both construction and advertising permits. Every structural drill point had to be backed by Professional Engineer (PE) endorsements to ensure the framework could withstand high-wind loads and seismic vibrations. These regulatory hurdles were matched by a “Zero-Disruption” mandate.
Because Berjaya Times Square houses a luxury hotel, service suites, and corporate offices, daytime work was strictly prohibited. Our teams were forced into a high-pressure “Midnight Ghost Shift” between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, requiring us to execute heavy structural drilling and installation in minimal silence to protect the guest experience while ensuring the site was cleared and safe before the morning commute.
The Solution
V-Series deployed a sophisticated combination of enterprise-grade hardware and advanced cloud-based software, delivering an asset optimized for long-term commercial performance.
The display is split into a Left Wing (6,800mm x 31,200mm) and a Right Wing (18,000mm x 31,200mm),completely driven by a single, high-performance Colorlight Controller. This architecture guarantees0ms latency across the entire 770+ sqm canvas, enabling flawless dual-screen content synchronizationand full readiness for high-impact 3D Anamorphic creative content.
The core of the visual solution relies on our proprietary P25 DIP Outdoor LED screen, specifically selected to combat the challenging outdoor conditions of the tropical Malaysian climate:
High Brightness Up to 6500 Nits
This industrial-grade brightness allows the display to pierce through direct sunlight, eliminating any wash-out effects during peak daylight hours and ensuring uncompromised brand visibility 24/7.
10,000:1 High Contrast Ratio
V-Series deployed a sophisticated combination of enterprise-grade hardware and advanced cloud-based software, delivering an asset optimized for long-term commercial performance.
Beyond the physical hardware, V-Series integrated the VigitSIGN CMS, a powerful, cloud-based Content Management System that gives the client centralized control over the entire display ecosystem from any remote location:
Remote Content Management
Client can upload, update, and deploy creative assets instantly. The smart scheduling engine allows for precise daily, weekly, or hourly programmatic ad targeting, maximizing the commercial yield of every slot.
Real-Time Device Health Monitoring
The CMS provides continuous diagnostics of the hardware network, giving operators immediate updates on device health, network connectivity, and online/offline status. This minimizes maintenance lag and ensures maximum operational uptime.
Proof-of-Play Analytical Reporting
To provide absolute transparency for premium media buyers, the VigitSIGN CMS generates automated log reports detailing basic playback metrics—including exact timestamp logs and how many times a specific piece of content was played—simplifying advertising auditing.
The Result
After a 9-month journey — 6 months of regulatory navigation and 3 months of intensive midnight execution, the project stands as a testament to V-Series’ engineering dominance. By delivering a full-spectrum LED Display turnkey solution, we demonstrated that architectural limitations and regulatory hurdles are simply variables to be solved. The Berjaya Times Square Giant Facade is now a living digital asset that commands the Jalan Imbi skyline and is ready for the future of immersive 3D advertising.
